Delicious food, inventive takes on smorrebrod. Salmon and mackerel stood out to us, but all really good. Great beer and nice vibe

My husband and I ate lunch at Selma while honeymooning in Copenhagen (October 2023). We were excited to try creative danish fine dining, and we couldn't have chosen a better spot. Everything we had was truly divine. We did the tasting menu, and I've been craving Selma smørrebrød ever since. Our meal was fresh, thoughtful, and the perfect size. We were comfortably full. The service was great: friendly, knowledgable, but not intrusive. My only note would be that the dessert (while beautiful), was a little basic. The plating was stunning, and the atmosphere of the restaurant was cozy, intimate, and un-snobby. We chose to have a glass of orange organic wine with our meal, and it was delicious (we had to have another). This is a place to go if you are someone who appreciates creative flavour that still allows you to experience the "story" behind a cultural cuisine. Thank you, Selma!

Delightful lunch! We had 6 different smorrebrod. Hard to say which I liked more. The food is beautifully presented and you get details about each course. The homemade aquavit it’s really strong but for sure worth a try. We have enjoyed this experience!

Smørrebrød is a massive thing in Denmark and Selma brings the authentic experience to a new level. The quality and presentation of the food is spectacular and very inviting. The price is worth it and this Michelin bib gourmand restaurant I’ll definitely visit again. Don’t forget to try their homemade snaps.

Cozy spot for a great smorrebrod experience. My friends and I were visiting Copenhagen for the first time, it was really cool getting to experience modern smorrebrod at Selma’s after we had the dish in many other more traditional places. We did the tasting menu and it was amazing, the first course is something I’ll never forget.

Elevated smørrebrød in a very charming space. The food here is absolutely incredible. They also have a great local beer list and an extensive schnapps list. The homemade walnut schnapps was fantastic. Definitely make a reservation if you’re going for lunch, the restaurant was full and they had to turn away quite a few walk-ins while we were there.

We had read that Selma has the best smorrebrod, and that is most definitely true. We were very lucky to have gotten a seat, as we did not have reservations. We tried 4 different smorrebrod, and they were all absolutely delicious. First was Matjes herring, with brown butter, creme fraiche, and lovage. All are served on the traditional dense rye bread, I should note. The flavor combination was sensational! The next smorrebrod was herb salted salmon, served with tiny onions, dill, and mustard. This was beautifully presented and just scrumptious. The hot plaice smorrebrod was served with a shrimp, trout roe, and red onion topping. This was lovely! Finally we had the smorrebrod with warm pork neck meat with apple, pureed brussel sprouts, and black currant. Our server suggested their brown butter snaps, which was perfect. My husband had a brown ale also, which was an excellent accompaniment. What a fantastic lunch. I cannot recommend this place more highly!! The interior is bright, with yellow and flowers, and the service was impeccable! Do make reservations! It is worth securing a table in advance!

Great experience. We went with the 8 course tasting menu and it didn’t disappoint. Portions are quite rite and the presentations is very good. We were served by Sandra and she was wonderful. Great ambience and highly recommended.
