We came across Schønnemann looking for a place where we could eat typical danish food. The restaurant was pretty crowded and we were lucky enough to get a table for 2 without reservation so my advice for You would be to make a reservation before coming in. We were welcomed by an awesome waiter who quickly brought the menus and right away offered a sample of danish vodka which tasted really well. We ordered 3 dishes and it was enough to share and get not too full. Also we had delicious house beer recommended by the waiter. The total cost of 3 dishes, 2 beers and 2 glasses of vodka was 734DKK with 40DKK tip included. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a great danish place to eat!

Wow what an amazing place. We visited right before Christmas and had the Christmas menu. A true taste of local Danish Smørrebrød of the highest level. They do everything from scratch, from local bread baking to making all the condiments. Exceptionally tasting food, great atmosphere and super friendly staff. You have to book well in advance as it’s super popular:) 10/10 PS ask for recommended snaps/aquavit as the selections is amazing

Where do I begin! My husband and I have been to 35 countries and eaten some amazing food and this was one of our favorites both for food and the experience! The Christmas sandwiches were incredible! I never thought I would say that I would dream of herring! Our waiter was the icing on the cake with his friendliness! This is an absolute must for anyone in Copenhagen as we will remember it forever!

What an exceptional experience! The best Danish hospitality, the best Danish food and the best Danish schnapps and beer. It is not a trip to Copenhagen without stopping here. It is not just a meal it's an institution. We tried four different smørrebrød and they were all exceptional. The balance of flavour and texture was mind-blowing. The ris d'alamande for dessert was a flavour explosion and is highly recommended. The service though... That's what makes it. These guys are experts at making people feel at home and welcome and explaining the unfamiliar cuisine. They also seem to be having so much fun while working that it just adds to the already buzzing ambience. Cannot recommend this place enough. Book in advance and wait until the door is opened. Absolute perfection.

Had a lovely Julefrokost with some foodie friends. Amazing spread of food with the best service and atmosphere. Herring, sausage, bread, fried plaice, roast pork, risalamande. Never ending schnapps and jokes. Super traditional and the best place to host an event with friends during the season.

The go-to lunch spot. Wonderful staff and delicious open sandwiches. The best place for an open sandwich or 2-3 open sandwiches. Everything was high quality and delicious. Can't wait to visit again to try some different open sandwiches on their vast menu.

I've wanted to visit this place for ages, and I am so happy I finally did. I ordered the Michel Roux tartare, which came with a poached egg and rye bread – it was incredibly delicious and filling. Afterward, I had Camembert frites, which was also really good. We loved the menu selection, and we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. However, when the bill arrived, we felt like the restaurant really overcharged us for water. The menu states that if you order a soda or beer, water is complimentary, yet we ended up paying more than 100 kr. for water. Considering that the prices for the Smørrebrød are already on the expensive side, we didn't expect to be charged so much for water.

There is no place like schønnemann in the world. Truly the best smørrebrød experience ever. The brisling fish is my favorite so far, highly recommended
