If you want to taste Danish food - this is where you should go! Wide variety of dishes , local beer and nice atmosphere.

Small, typical Danish restaurant, a few steps below pavement level. Despite this, very bright, with a very warm and welcoming atmosphere. We only eat smorrebrod, a typical Copenhagen dish which consists of a sort of canapé of brown bread with whatever on top. You can choose from around thirty variations starting from fish, passing through meat and arriving at cheeses. We took: smoked salmon and scrambled egg (8), fried sole (8), meatballs with sauerkraut (8), roast with aspic (7.5), strong Danish cheese with aspic (7). All accompanied by beer and typical Danish grappa (like Becherovka) to drink with the meal. Good service, they explained everything about the typical dishes and how they must be ordered and eaten, in perfect English. Paid €110 for 2 which, even considering the 3 beers and 2 grappas drunk, is a bit high... but we are in Copenhagen! Definitely recommended. You can book directly from Google Maps, fantastic!!

Nice place for lunch. Typical Danish food. Food on the plate looks better than their photo menu.

Very traditional smørrebrød restaurant for lunch. All the classics on the menu plus plenty of snaps to choose from. Very loud inside (horrible acoustics) so you can't even hear what the person on the other side of the table is saying. Food wise, classic does not mean good. The smørrebrød was cheap but incredibly average and nondescript compared to Cafe Wilders for example. Great, funny service and an emblem of the past however.

Best meal I had in Denmark. Very tasty. Staff were nice enough to seat me even though I came close to 4:00pm. The beef tartar smorrebrod was sublime. Highly recommend!
