Delightful. Truly Danish. Tables both outside and inside overlooking the lake. I took the delicious vegan dish

This property is amazing! The former hunting lodge of a prince, it is everything you could imagine. Lunch was lovely, though the service quite unhurried. Walking the grounds afterward was thoroughly enjoyable. Beware, the menu is in Danish only. We worked it out with the help of some kind customers doing their best to interpret, a translation dictionary would have been helpful.

I will give 4 stars for the food and the last star for the location. I have eaten at Sophienholm 4 times now, and have never been disappointed with the food or the view. Be ready for the owner ( Reaturantchef ) though - he's a no nonsense guy and nice service is not always his strong suit - but the food, prices and view make up for it. Romantic, cosy, great view and good food.

Lovely place to visit in summer. There is some sort of art gallery dedicated to the nuclear scientist Niels Bohr. Also local artist show some of their art work. We met an elder lady who was very knowledgeable about the place and work. There is a quaint coffee shop which seems to be liked by many elderly people. There is the option to seat outside, look at the water( not sure if it's a lake) and watch the hundreds of goose swim and stroll on the green lawn. The location has a beautiful scenery, great place to have a picnic. Parking space for a dozen cars. Worth spending 2 to 6 hours here relaxing. The entrance IS NOT free.
