This is a very special place for my family. It is a beautiful, peaceful woodlands. There are trails for bikes, playgrounds for kids, places to cook over open fire and pavilions for picnics. But really for us its all about the nature, quiet beauty. In fall it us pure magic.

A small piece of woods, (part of the Jægersborg hegn, which in turn is a part of the north of copenhagen system of forest spanning from Øresund in east to Hillerød in northwest) and like so many in Denmark, only this contains Bøllemosen, which is an interesting bog slowly being overgrown with peat as a raised bog. Even if in a densely populated area, you can still pick a lot of both cloud- and blueberry in the season. The surrounding forest consists of typical Danish production forest with old Douglas and Beech. You will also find the occasional Oak, a lot of Maple, Pinus of various sorts mostly Silvestrus. In early 2023 a lot of Douglas is harvested and the majestic stems up to 30 meter in length and >1m in Diameter is waiting to be taken to the sawmill. Impressive. Harvest will cease in 2024, and the forest be laid out for biodiversity purposes.

This is a beautiful area to explore! There are so many paths through the stunning forest and many little areas to explore. The lake area is pretty with benches and a board walk around. Close by is a shelter and fire pit. I haven't even explored the whole area and it sure would take awhile!!

Beautiful lake and scenic point. Lovely wooden platforms to go next to the lake. Some bbq sites and wooden benches to relax.

Amazing forest with place for picnic, bonfire, play area for kids, obstacle course for the more energetic. And a few km into the forest is a beautiful lake Bøllemosen, surrounded by gorgeous trees. A must visit - so close to the city 😄
