This was a perfect stop for lunch between visiting the castle and walking the castle grounds. Our meal was delicious and well prepared, the service was good, and the cafe was clean and well maintained. We would definitely eat here again!

Had chicken curry Smørrebrød. Not good at all. Bacon had been cooked hours ahead, a very heavy sauce with strongerest flavor being salt. A glass of water cost what a glass of wine cost at the next place that I passed. That's what you should do with this restaurant, pass....

Being on castle ground I expected higher standards. The roast potatoes where undercooked. The pineapple! Presumed I was drinking coffee rather than checking in (tea or coffee). Wide choice of things to choose from. Children friendly with outdoor seating by the moat. Disabled access and toilet. The Americans enjoyed the strong coffee. They got takeaways. Weather permitting sit outside.

This is a descent place to grab a bite before visiting the castle. The portions are huge. But the menu is a little lack luster. It's very Danish but it seems that the open faced sandwiches are just the same ingredients with a different meal. For example we ordered a cheese sandwich it looked exactly the same as the herring sandwich. The burger was very good but could be shared. The atmosphere left something to be desired. Perhaps summer is a better time to visit and enjoy the outdoors.

Has much potential but something is not working here. Staff closed over 20 minutes before actual closing time, and would not even sell us something to go since they wanted to leave early. No blame on the staff in general, but something in the management of this place is not working well, leaving customers with a frustrating experience.

Lovely setting and reasonable prices for Denmark. Great veggie burger but a shame their beers are tied to Carlsberg. Good service too.
