Very unique way of thinking about and teaching coffee roasting that I didn’t find elsewhere. Completing their online course allowed me to really understand how to control my roaster and successfully manipulate roast profiles according to set roasting goals. Online course was a perfect mix of e-learning modules and hands-on experience on my own roaster.

Morten couldn’t have made roasting more accessible for everyone to understand and perform at different levels. Words are not enough to thank you for this.

I took the video course "Bullet Roast Profile Design Basics" and it changes the way I roast. The great thing about Coffee Mind is that they use actual testable hypotheses when designing the profiles, not just a "feeling " that one roast is "baked" and one is "underdeveloped" By using statistical analysis of the various roasts (Principle Components! A great way to concentrate on the axis of maximum variability!) you find out what changes you can make THAT MAKE A DIFFERENCE! I hope someday to get to their facility in person, but these video courses are very, very useful. Using science to roast better coffee!

First of all Morton was amazing he was alot of funny and very informative. The class was awesome and really helped me understand the science behind roasting and how to do it better as well as how to properly set up my cupping for the best results. I would 100% recommend this to anyone that loves coffee and wants to roast thier own.

The 4 weeks sensory training course is really great if you want to improve your sensory and especially grow your experience in basic tastes tasting.

I recently attended the online training course for the Aillio Bullet roaster. The trainers were extremely helpful and knowledgeable and the course was the right pace and well organized. All of the content can be practically applied and is backed by quantitative and unbiased studies. It was a great experience at a good value for the cost. I highly recommend it.

100% recommended! Finally actual, objective science based appraoch that works compared to weird obsessions over the literal mathematical differential (RoR) and the aestethics of the curve. Try for yourself and read his papers and make up your own mind!

If you’re looking for training in Sensory or Coffee Roasting in Europe, Coffee Mind is by far the best facility for this given their background in coffee research and their love for improvement and refinement. I was lucky to take courses with both Morten and Ida, and both are a delight to learn from! The Coffee Mind Smell & Tell game is also highly recommended. We bought one for our roastery and both customers and staff alike enjoy playing!
